Im getting my belly button pierced, is there any thing I can do before I go to help ease the pain?

if the "parlor" is a decent one, they can advise Lidocaine cream/ointment. As in a TAT shop it can be applied. It's usually not advertised, and perhaps for valid reasons.
The effect is similar to novacaine at the dentist, but without a needle.
It is sold in levels, IE: percent of topical ingredients. If one didn't want pain they might purchase 8%, and apply it 15 minutes before the procedure. For a piercing it will definitely last through the initial process.

It's sold non prescription at Wal Greens, etc, and I was recently advised to get it as a blend, but all I recall is that the name of that other prime ingredient began with the letter "P"

no it hurts like hell. just make sure you are completely sober when you go. you might think you are easing the pain but you could actually do the opposite and have a reaction such as passing out or vomiting. take note these piercings get infected easy if your not careful.

When I got it done, it wasn't that bad. It just felt like a pinch. They put numbing gel on before they pierced it, so that's probably what helped. Just ask them if they can put numbing gel on so it won't hurt that bad. But once you get it will be worth that little pinch!

i have had mine pierced 2 times top and bottom they didnt use anything on mine i didnt think that it hurt just like a pinch good luck

it won't...no it shudnt hurt, too much...i regret gettin myn done myself bt it helped wen i had my mum there to hold my hand, although she seemed in more pain than me...
