It's not mentioned everytime because he wasn't ONLY a prophet. People in his day were trying to tack a label on him to describe who he was. But Jesus didn't fit any labels as we see now in retrospect. Jesus was prophetic in what he said, speaking with authority. But he went beyond the prophetic authority in what he said, basically, that he was equal to God the Father. A true prophet of God would never say that; it's blasphemy. So in this sense, Jesus was more than a prophet, he was the Son of God. In Jesus' words, "If you have seen me, then you have seen the Father. ... I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes unto the Father but by me."
PS - Jesus was not a prophet like Mohammed as someone else on the board has claimed.

Christ was the Son of God. He was also a carpenter, a brother, a prophet, a healer, a hiker, a friend, a revelator, a counselor, a cousin, a rebuker, a teacher. He was even called by multiple names throughout the Bible, such as Master, Rabbi, the Word, I AM, Lamb of God, Redeemer. Wonderful, etc... Many names to cover his many duties, accomplishments, and descriptions, as seen by many authors. Nobody is alike, so why would they all write the same thing about Christ?

Where in the NT is Jesus ever mentioned as a prophet? I never saw that passage, and I've read the Bible many times.

many of that time did not understand, even the Apostles did not fully untill the very end of Jesus' time on earth, who exactly Jesus was. And in fact he did make prophetic statements... But the last prophet of God to mankind was John The Baptist.... As, of course, Jesus was both fully God and fully man.

The Bible is the Word of God. If you don't believe that then why question what it says about Jesus?
