Bush signed the bill. New wall/fence. Costing up to 8 billion dollars. Many consider it, including myself, just like the Berlin wall.

A waste of time, money and manpower. Just think what that eight billion could do if it were infused into the school system, or to help provide affordable health care, or to create jobs for the homeless.

It's a great start, but it's not going to be long enough, wide enough, high enough or electrified enough! The Berlin Wall was for the separation of people for political purposes. A U.S. border wall is to secure an otherwise, open border that allows huge volumes of illegal aliens into this country everyday. It's a security and legal issue! They in turn bring their illiteracy, criminal past, and need for all manner of social services and are running the economy into the ground. Liberals confuse an illegal immigrant with a U.S. citizen by declaring they have a 'constitutional right' to be here and participate in all the social and welfare programs they're bleeding dry. The last time I checked, constitutional rights were reserved for citizens of this country, not the illegals who are here because they broke a number of our laws just to get into the country and break even more by staying here. Build the wall high and fast! Enough is enough ... kick the roaches out!

Hi well to tell you the truth the Berlin wall worked very well yes it will cost but not as much if we use the ILLEGALS to build it and then put there butts on the other side of it..... but I also believe it you are an illegal and you commit a crime with weapon we should execute you on the spot!!! tossed back on the other side and charge Mexico for the cost of the bullet.. Mexico should start taking responsibility for their citizens build there economy make something of themselves some folks say they do work that we don't want to yes they do but we are Americans we will fig out other ways another way is to start an American foreign Legion

It doesn't bother me but I don't think is going to help much. If people want to come to the USA they will find a way regardless of having fences or whatever. As a matter of fact I think it will end up ruining the relationship that the USA has with Mexico. In such case it will cause great problems to the economy- well either way is going to be harsh for our pockets, those who pay taxes. But I say is a waste of money that can be put into other issues that are affecting the society worldwide.

I love it and it's about time we as a people started taking back our country no even close to what the Berlin wall was. There is a way to enter legally in Berlin there was no way to do that i suggest you study more before blurting out statements like that.

You want the illegals taking over the country like they're doing? You like the Mexican Mafia running drugs in this country? The wall - if it even gets built - won't help much, but every little bit helps. If you love illegals as much as you seem to, why not move to Mexico?

A percentage of the illegals coming in the back door are from N. Korea, Comm. China, ME, & S. America. Laws were made to know who's in the US and now that it's a matter of a suicide A-bomber maybe 'political correctness' will have to take a back seat.

First of all, the Berlin wall was used to keep people in! This wall is to keep people out.
Secondly, illegal (illegal as in not legal) aliens have no right to be here. Getting a visa is hard and expensive, they should wait like everyone else.
Finally, Mexicans who say this crap are pure hypocrites! I am half Cuban, half Salvadorean and getting a visa to Mexico is hard and expensive! That's right, Mexico has tough immigration laws!

I agree it is a new Berlin wall. It is just another stupid way for Bush to spend money we dont have. If he recalls (which he is not capable of doing) the guys that flew the planes on 9-11 came through Canada not Mexico. We also get more illegals from Canada than Mexico...and we are also entering Canada illegally....works both ways
