I lost my daughter this April and i would really like to get a tattoo in memory or her but really don't know where to go for some inspiration or ideas. She was 14 and had always begged to get a tattoo herself with cherries and I thought about trying to incorporate that in there somewhere. Thanks any help would be appreciated.

First and foremost: I am deeply sorry for your loss. I have 2 children myself and I cannot imagine a parent's loss of a child. My prayers are truly with you and your family in this time.
Secondly, to answer your question, I think really you should get a tattoo of what your DAUGHTER would have gotten. This may seem silly, due to the fact that what a 14-year -old would want as a tattoo would differ from what an adult would want. But if you are really looking for a tribute to her, perhaps sit down some night by yourself, brew a nice hot cup of tea, look at some old pictures, and let yourself cry. Imagine walking into a tattoo shop with her, and imagine her picking the exact tattoo she wants. Draw it. This may seem a bit dramatic, and may be something you choose not to do for your own reasons. But whatever you decide on, I hope you enjoy it and I hope to goodness it fufills anything you woud like it to.
On a side note, I am a big fan of skin art. After having my two children, I wanted badly to get a tattoo that clearly represented the both of them. I dug out the hospital certificates with their footprints on them, took them to my artist and had their feet tattooed on either side of my back. I have enjoyed them both from day one.
My best wishes to you in your search for your art.
Michelle Rose~

first off sorry to hear about your loss.. I would find a good picture of your daughter that really reminds you of her and her personality and maybe get a portrait done and you could incorperate the cherries somewere into the portriat with her name in between two cherries.. Thier are alot of ways to go about getting a memorial tattoo.. I just got one done for my mom and it has two angles sitting with thier backs against a cross in a cemetary with RIP under it all and clouds with rays of light coming down upon the two angles as god watching over them and opening the door to heaven for my mother...Be very creative and the best bet is to get a custom tattoo from you heart and mind that will best fit your daugther and all the things she loved and what she ment to you... I know its a hard subject to think about since its been only a short time since your lost but try and have fun with it as much as possible and get somthing you know she would love... Hope this helps....

first of all i am really sorry about your loss. my own daughter will be thirteen in two months and i can't imagine what you've been through. as far as tattoo ideas unless you want a portrait of your daughter, i think just the cherries maybe in a heart shape on a little cherry vine with leaves would be really nice.

I'm so sorry for your loss!! I have a 14 year old and my world would be crushed without her!!! I have watched Miami Ink on TV and there is a tattoo artist there that does portraits of people she can make the tattoo look just like the picture it is unreal. A lot of people go there to have her do a portrait tattoo of their loved ones, I would definitely do that!!!

I am so sorry for your loss. It can't be easy to burry a child especially that young. My heart and prayers are with you. My opinion, I think it would look absolutely beautiful and mean so much if you got an Angel baby(cherub) holding cherries with her name in one cherry and birthdate in the other. This will symbolize her cherries that she wanted and also symbolize her as well.
Hope this helps and good luck!!

get 2 cherries with the stems curving, put her name curving around the top and her birthday along the bottom.
make sure you go to a place that is well lighted, and clean for safety reasons and that you trust. also, put it some where you will see it every day so u will see it as a symbol of her everyday

get what makes you think of her. maybe cherry blossoms? just think of her. meditate on the thought of her and see what pops into your mind. you would be surprised what a talented custom tattoo artist can do with an idea. good luck and i am sorry about the loss of your daughter.

Where did she want the cherries? If you know, you should get the tattoo that she always wanted. In that sense, she lives on.

I wish you the best. :]
