What has happened to the supplies in the pet department. We have been buying the "vitamints" for our dog for about 41/2 years and they have dissapeared. The stock people say they are coming but after 1 week I think they are covering up for some one.
We used to have a pretty nice selection of the "ol roy' poches but they seem to be pushed back in favor of "pedigree".
Will my dog have his viamins or not?Wally world seemes to be going downhill pretty fast if you ask me.a reply would be nice, thank you.

I once had an elderly lady for a friend. She had a wonderful little dog. A mix of some sort. She had the dog trained well and it behaved very well. Learn here https://tr.im/crAOY

She kept an uncovered candy dish on her coffee table with candy in it. The dog was forbidden to eat the candy. When she was in the room observing the dog he did not even appear to notice the candy. One day while she was in her dinning room she happened to look in a mirror and could see her dog in the living room. He did not know he was being watched. For several minutes he was sitting in front of the candy bowl staring at the candy. Finally he reached in and took one. He placed it on the table and stared at it, he woofed at it. He stared some more, licked his chops and PUT IT BACK in the bowl and walked away. Did he want the candy, oh yeah. Did he eat it? Nope. They can be trained that well but most, I'll admit, are not trained that well. When I was a young boy, maybe 5 years old. We had a german shepherd. He was very well trained also. My mom could leave food unattended on the table, no problem. She would open the oven door and set a pan roast beef or roast chicken on the door to cool. No problem. He would not touch it, watched or not. But butter? Whole other story. You leave a stick of butter anywhere he could reach and it was gone. He was a large shepherd so there were not many places he could not reach. Really, I think the number of dogs trained to the point they will leave food alone when not being supervised is very small indeed.
.
Now if we are talking obedience training, not food grubbing, that is a different story. Way back when I was first learning obedience training one of the final exercises was to put our dogs in a down/stay and not only leave the room but leave the building for 15 minutes. The only person that stayed was our trainer, not the owners. Most of the dogs in my class did not break their stay, which would be an automatic fail. I'm happy to report my dog was one of the ones that passed.

I use to shop at walmart, but now I don't. Walmart.com slow, the customer service people do not help or even know what they're doing. I use to order contacts from them and my color was that I wanted in my brand was out, and they said that they can have me order it and ship it out when it came it. I just bought it @ my doctors, and then when I went to try to re-oder it got screwed up. I don't shop there anymore nor is there one close to me @ all. I would never buy any pet stuff there simply because I use to buy fish there when I was a kid and took great care of them but the always died within a week.

Gosh, I only look at the toys at Walmart for my dogs. Food and treats come from the pet supply kind of stores cuz those "grocery store foods" are really not very good for the dogs. Lots of fillers in them.

We go to a local place here to buy our Innova. We pay almost $40 a bag, but well worth it for our dogs. We want them to be eating healthy and there are no fillers in it.

If you feed a high quality dog food, you don't need to supplement with vitamins. No dog food at Walmart is high quality.

Here's how to spot some high quality dog foods.

Nothing you find at a grocery store is going to be a good food. High quality foods can be found at large pet store chains, or online. A couple of foods I like are Nutro Natural, Innova, and Cannidae.

There are other high quality dog foods. Here's how to spot them:

A high quality food will have little or no fillers such as corn, wheat or soy. These aren't very digestable for dogs, and are common food related allergens. Since you were seeing corn meal in the first few ingredients, those are not high quality foods. Foods list ingredients by content, with the ingredient it contains most of at the top.

A high quality food will not contain BHT, BHA or Ethoxyquin, these are all chemical preservatives that have been linked to cancer.

A high quality food will not contain by-products of any kind. Meat meals are ok as long as the source of the meat is listed, such as Chicken Meal.

A high quality diet should have meat as at least the first ingredient., and be made from human grade ingredients. Foods that don't use human grade ingredients often get their ingredients from less than desirable sources, such as meat from animals that were diseased, or euthanized.

There is another diet option other than dog food. Some people choose to feed a raw diet. This involves feeding the dog raw meaty bones and organ meat. However it is not as simple as throwing a couple chicken bones in a bowl everyday. If you wish to feed this type of diet, do lots and lots of research first. Switching to this diet without knowing what your doing can lead to nutritional problems for your dog. I'll give you some links as a starting point in research if you are interested in this type of diet.

i can't really understand what you are asking. but please tell me you don't feed your dog ol roy. it is the absolute worst food out there and i'm glad to hear walmart is starting to limit it's selection of it. i have seen many dogs with serious health problems from eating that crap dog food. some dogs are fine, but imgaine what they would look like if they ate something decent. pedigree is gold compared to ol roy. spend the extra $2 a bag please.

If your dog is on a good brand of dry or canned dog food, they actually do not need any extra vitamins. I would just take the money you used to spend on vitamins and spend it on a better brand of dog food.

Pedigree makes my dogs have gas, and when they let it go, it will make you run from the room.

I but nutromax from pet smart- it not only is good dog food, it makes them have less poop, and it does not stink!
