What kinds of things are in the PX and BX? Can I get a camcorder there? or should I buy one now. Exactly how dangerous is it? What are the possibilities of having to use my M-16? (I most likely wont get pulled for convoy duty because I'm a weapons troop for the F-15) Can you leave the base? Are the latrines in the b-huts?
What are some things you wish you had brought and couldn't get at the base? Are there little Afghanistan trinkets I can send back? What's the difference between Afghanistan and Iraq?
I'm in the Air Force (married to a civilian) and deploying very soon. Any info is great....thanks. FYI- I'm not scared, or nervous, I'd just like to know what to pack and how things are going to be.

I'm not sure its a Full up AFB... i believe Airfield would more properly define it... but as for knowing the specifics... Ive only been elsewhere in the AOR (with F-15E's... High Five) so I've no clue... it shouldn't be too rough as we've been there for a while
ADD: as far as a hotel... i seriously doubt that... and with the collect money and have everything given to you? i don't think so... while we may not be bullet sponges, we are out there in the AOR defending the countries freedom... and there are extra stresses that you will feel because of the situation... what was that guy on?

Do cons ever ask truly questions that would be resolved by way of debate? Or, do they simply conceal Obama bashing as questions? Such as: Isn't Obama the worst President ever? Can you think how dull Obama is? And, now Does Obama ever inform the reality? Similarly, you would see questions about Bush with the equal outcome: Was Bush the worst President in historical past? Why did Bush lie such a lot? My factor is this isn't a truly query. It's a rant. Break it right down to smaller features, cite examples of man or woman disorders and begin a debate. For instance, you would say: Yesterday, Obama stated X approximately limitation Y. But, then he did whatever else. What used to be his motivation? Without creating a factor, your query is unnecessary. Sorry.

My husband is over there right now... He didnt say much about the AFB but he did tell me that they just got a PX where his FOB is
