I have know idea why those religious people act like their one up on non-believers. They really got to get it straight. Religious people are really about 5 light years up on non-believers. Non-believers are stuck some where in the stone ages. Neanderthals is a better description of non-believers.

I believe it is the other way around. If you notice on YA, there are a multitude of questions and comments that either directly or indirectly accuse Christians of being stupid or uneducated. The very mention of God or the supernatural brings out all the scientific experts that hang out on this site to ridicule and demean.
As a Christian, I don't feel like I have one up on anyone. If my opinion as a Christian offends, that doesn't mean I think that I am better than you. It is just what I know is the truth..a non-believer has the right to his own opinion.

The sad thing is that nonbelievers are referred to, among the religious, as "unenlightened, unsaved, unknowing, etc". It is the result of religious practice and teaching. It is part of their philosophy, "either you are with us or against us because you haven't learned the truth".
However, to say that all religious people think this way would be a mistake. Many of them recognize our non-belief and treat it with respect instead of ridicule. The fact is that there are many more people out there who are tolerant of us than those who belittle us.

They have an answer to everything that can't be answered yet. It is a silly answer and raises more questions than it answers, but they have been told this their entire life and think it must be true. I just read some say they believed in god the minute they were born. Now does that sound rational to you?

It's a Freudian size complex kind of thing. They need something to feel special about and that's the best some people can do. After all, they need to suppress their flaws somehow.

Uhh I actually like atheists and my ex-boyfriend is slightly one (inbetween agnostic and atheistic) Oh and no we didn't break for that reason. I don't think I'm "one up" on anyone. That thinking is just plain rubbish no one is more important than another. We are equals in humanity at least I see us as equals.
