My family very christian and i am too, i believe in God and Jesus and i pray alot. I am youngest girl in my family (12 year) my friends say youngest is supposed to be spoiled but i dont get spoiled at all ever, my mom and me used to get along so good but now shes always upset with me about things i do and i am getting in trouble all the time and many times since my birthday shes gotten mad enouigh to spank me hard i mean hard enough i cry!! She say it always is for my own good and because she love me and i know she does love me but still i dont like bein punished that way its like for lil kids and im older now!!! She say thing to like how Bible says to spare rod and spoil child and when im in trouble she needs to spank me to remind me be a better girl. Is that true??? I wish she could understand it not same anemore as when she was younger!! How can i talk to her about it????

For the spanking part it, it depends on what exactly you are doing. If she leaves bruises, scars or anything like that on your body after the spanking then yes-she is doing wrong. I know you don't wanna take the punishment but when I was 12 I was still getting punished. You pretty much can't do anything about it either unless you get a job and get your own place and find a way to get yourself around town w/o using the services of Mom.
I'm Christian too-except my parents don't believe in spanking b/c they don't like it. However, I DO get punished when I am in trouble. I get my privileges taken away and stuff.
If you hate getting spanked why not tell your mom how you feel and ask her not to spank you anymore? Tell her some other ideas you have that don't require spanking. Such as being grounded (it still stinks-but it's better than getting whipped.)
Just sit her down when she's in a good mood and stuff and tell her how you feel.
Don't worry yourself sick. You sound like a sweet kid. And trust me: things WILL fall into the right place. Trust in Jesus!

There comes a point in a child's life where physical punishment (spanking) becomes ineffective and abusive. You have reached that age. You are grown (old) enough to say that you will not tolerate being hit anymore. Talk with your mother about your feelings. Tell her that she needs to come up with different techniques to discipline you, as that you feel spanking is now inappropriate do to your age and understanding. Have ideas that you feel would be better tools for discipline. (loss of certain privileges that you hold in high regard)

The bible does say that but it does not mean that Christian parents are supposed to strike their children. The "rod" is something shepherds used to keep the sheep back and in contol so that they did not get hurt. This was because the sheep are animals and cannot be reasoned with. People, especially 12 year olds, can be reasoned with.
