I've been getting electrolysis treatments for the past 2 weeks, and today I noticed that I had several flat red dots. They aren't pimples, and they aren't raised. It looks as if the follicle where the probe was inserted is now red.. is this normal? My last electrolysis treatment was 5 days ago....

Thanks for your help!

i get them every time i go as well. my electrologist said it was because my skin is thin and sensitive. when she turns down the juice (voltage, or however the machine works), the dots are less noticeable. also, the procedure itself is more tolerable that way. the only drawback is that it will probably take longer to see results. your choice, dots and discomfort for faster results, or less dots and more comfort over an extended period of time. this hasnt happened to any of my friends, looks like you and i are the odd ones out. it takes me from 3-5 days for them to disappear.

The purple dots are ingrown hairs, or "razor bumps". it quite is quite undemanding for persons who shave their pubic hair. it frequently happens once you shave against the grain, or opposite from the way it grows. in case you do shave against the grain, i might shave against the grain first, then with the grain at as quickly as after. Then word some moisturizer and infant powder, it quite facilitates in combating them.

from my understanding that is normal, but like with all things if you are unsure just ask the doctor or person that performed it.
