I reheat rice all the time. Just put it in a tupperware container, add a little water, maybe a teaspoon or so, and put it in the microwave until it's hot again. Tastes great with a little butter and garlic salt too!

Long grain rice always becomes hard. But have you tried using a medium or short grain rice. Even brown rice stays moist after being refrigerated.

I'm sorry to tell you that there is no way to make rice to soften again even reheating in microwave make it worse!!!! I ALWAYS COOK RICE SINCE MY CHILDHOOD so I've master it already. Adding water then reheating the rice on a casserole will do. OR YOU JUST CRUSH IT WITH A FORK!! ^_^

My mom used to put a wet paper towel on it then put it in the microwave
