Have you noticed all televangelists ask for your credit card number and ask you to buy their 'inspirational word of God' on DVD?

Yes I agree and I’ll add that Christianity always had a superb marketing department. Indeed many of the modern marketing techniques come directly from Christianity. Here’s one example: the Millennium Bug. First make all computers sick, then sell them the cure. Same over there, the first thing to do is make everyone a sinner and then sell them Jesus (in return you get either money or control of their mind). And I’ll also add that they should thank Satan since he’s kept the churches in business.

There is a God industry. No denying that and no denying that some aspects are highly distasteful. Many programs, books and DVDs that claim to spread God’s word would displease Christ greatly. If he chose to do so, he would treat them exactly like the money changers’ tables.

HOWEVER, please realize that is manufactured by man. Every bit of it comes from man, not God. There are also wonderful books and ministries that are filled with the Holy Spirit. All Christians should ask for help with discernment if unsure what is scripturally based and which is designed just to make some guy rich or to further some person’s agenda.

Dear Ashley-
Although some have turned religion into an industry, God Himself is not an industry.
Worshiping God is not like worshiping the Disney corporation.

It kills me that televangelists and many other groups & sects have taken the name of "Christianity" and turned it into something unholy and corrupt. So it gives true believers a tough time as we seem to be all "lumped together" in the public eye.

True worship comes from a love of Jesus, of God of the Holy Spirit and His Word.

Believers are told in John 4:24-
"God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

So, for those believers reading this - keep your eyes on Jesus - stick with the truth of God's Word the bible.
Sincerely- Redeemed (by the blood of the Lamb)

Not all Christians are televangelists. And those are the Christians that make the rest of us look bad when they say they have healed you of your cancer! Of your disablity! Its poppy-cock. Medicine can heal but is not God. Certain things in life will come at its own will hopefully with the help of God. Those saying they are enlightened by God and have healing powers are just rubbish to me. I'm sorry if that's harsh but I've felt that way for a long time now.

Men make religions. God made men. What matters is your personal relationship with God. Religions are industries and often suffer therefrom. God is the creator of the universe entire. He does respond to those who earnestly and sincerely seek Him. Those who get distracted by worldly things miss the one true great purpose of life; to find God.

Jesus had no problems with the sinners, it was the "religious leaders" that were the problem. Some things haven't changed. There are still people who use the name of God for power and money, but thankfully there are plenty of others who sincerely love the Lord and serve him humbly.

I disagree. God is out there. There is no disputing that fact for me. I have seen Him work in my life and the lives of others. God is not just someone some person created to make money.

No, I don't agree. I will agree with you that there are some who try to profit from their so called profession of Christianity, but those people are in for a great shock when they come face to face with their maker and He says "Go away, I never knew you".
