has anyone seen a sleeping bag that zips up the front only half way and cant be zipped up from the inside, and has a hood on it, is it a mummy bag or normal if you have please explain it

i own one exactly like u described.the hood is not like a mummy bags hood, it`s more like a jaket`s hood . mine is not a extreme condition bag, actually it`s an above freezing level degree bag and i dont think that such a design could be able to resist extreme cold temperatures like -40.infact i dont think that this design would be able to resist even -10.zippers without inside and outside flaps and front zippers are not the best design for extreme cold. i use this bag in cool temperatures like +10 down to +2-3c no more.i got 3 bags covering all my need down to -35c.

The army uses one that is somewhat similar.... I know the one I used, had a hood, but I don't recall it zipping up only half way.. But that was many moons ago.

Its called a mummy bag, its for extreme conditions, most of them are good for around 40 below zero.

i think marmot makes that type of bag...
they are pricey.
