weve been dating for 11 mos. we were realy in love. hes was gone for treatment for 8 now hes back and i dont feel it so much anymore but he still does. i dont know how not to hurt him or bring out his schitzofrania PLEASE help and give some advice.

"I am starting to lose my faith in love." Give it 2-3 years max and I am sure your perspective will change. People and their outlooks change overtime and usually for the better. "She slept with a 20 year old dude and hes in jail, now she acts like it never happened and all she does is flirts with guys." Give the girl a break; you have no idea what she has been through and maybe if you knew her and her situation better you would be in a position to judge her more clearly. "So right now I shall sever all my attachments to her or any girl for that matter." In a way, maybe this is a good idea. Just chill, hangout with friend, do stuff and all the girl stuff will work itself out on its own, I promise. When you do find not just 'love' but 'true love' all these things you mention wont matter.

*ahem*... thats split personality disorder dude, not schitzophrenia. When your schitzo you see things or hear things that aren't really there.
This is going to be very hard for him. The fact that he still loves you shows that you kept him strong during his ordeal is thearpy. If I were you, I would give him a few more weeks, and maybe you can see what you fell in love with 11 months ago.
If you really must break up with him, then be gentle. Tell him you don't feel it anymore, and that this ordeal with his thearpy was too hard to deal with. It'll be tough, especially on him, but it's better than leading him on if you really don't wanna try again.

Keep in mind that there is no such thing as a one-sided break-up that doesn't hurt the other party. It has to be a mutual thing, so you can either break up with him in the "normal" way to get it over with, or if you're more adventuresome you can start doing stuff that he doesn't like so he gets tired of you. It's hard to give advice on what that may be, it depends totally on the person, but being no fun to be around or doing stupid stuff can get him to the point where he'll be glad to be rid of you.

Tell him that you dont know what you want right now. Thats what my ex told me when we broke up. And I took it lightly and respected that because it did not directly effect me or think that I was the reason for the break up. You are just going in a different direction and relationships are not in your immediate future. Plus, precaution is very necessary. Like the others are saying...have somebody around you and do it in a public setting. Good Luck and be safe about it.

Be careful how you tell him. Make sure you are around other people and not alone. Let him know you aren't ready for a serious relationship and have other goals. Tell him what those are so he can get a clearer picture.

Breaking up with somebody is not an easy thing to do, but If you do not want to be with him any more than you don't have to. Just break it off cold turkey.
