Suppose someone was born an atheist. Then they decide, based on evidence, that there is reason to believe in God, but they don't know which one to believe in. They try to live a good life and follow God's will, but in the end they just don't get it. Will they go to hell?

If they tried to follow God's will, then they would repent!

(Jesus speaking)..."Except ye REPENT ye shall all likewise perish".

I think there will be people from every walk of life will go to heaven..They will need to repent and be baptised and live a clean life and Love the Lord and they can go to heaven..as far as atheist and people that are agnostic then NO they will not go to heaven...In order to go to Heaven you must believe that there is a heaven and a true and living God......with out that how can you expect to go to heaven?

You're starting a full step into this arguement.

Go back to the beginning of this arguement, prove that there is a heaven and a hell, and then ask.

Proof, BTW, is a scientific process. Just saying that you believe because it's what you were told to believe doesn't cut it.

Well, it depends on the person. the person may believe in another god but if that person really evil things then die than they will go to hell. if the person believes in another god and does really good thing then die, they will go to paradise(heaven). the thing is, all the gods teach the same thing: Live a good life and care for others. so, it doesn't matter what religion you believe in, but what you do decides where you will go when you die.

In Islam those people have hope. "any one who believe in God and the last day and works righteous deeds; on them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve" (Quran) *snicker* and they call us intolerant. Welll, good luck, God bless and peace.

Religion does not get you to heaven.. Only confessing your sins to JESUS and asking HIM to come into your heart.. Being good does not get you to heaven either.. A lot of good people will be in hell.. JESUS is the only way to heaven.

There is only one GOD

The only way to heaven is through Jesus Christ. The Bible says this, not me.
