I think giving him a gift (something small like the book you mentioned) would be a nice gesture whether or not he gives you anything.

Remember, that it is the act of giving that is important, not the gift itself. Also, it is not whether they give you a gift or not, it is because you give totally free of conditions that makes the giving special, so give without expecting something in return. I would recommend something small, and inexpensive, but with a great deal of thought towards what the person likes or is interested in. A Book, CD or DVD of something he likes would be nice, and it is something he can use and enjoy. Take a little time to find out what kind of music, literature or Movies he likes and he will likely really appreciate it.

It really depends on how the dates went. You said that you weren't sure if it was exclusive, so it's a hard spot. On one hand, you could move things along by using a gift, on the other hand, you could make him feel awkward.
I think that it would be okay to get something under ten dollars. Tell him you were shopping, and saw it, and you just knew it belonged to him. Make it seem random.
Good luck and happy holidays. :)

GIVING is better than receiving
and it is the season and all, so just get him something small and just give it to him, and if he says something, just say this IS the way you are, you like giving at Christmas, and if he is acting strange just tell him, do not worry it is just a gift, and smile.....
the idea is to make him happy ( and yourself for giving him something )
do not worry, just give it to him
smile
good luck

If you dont have any idea that you are exclusive or not..then you probably arent. I would give him a xmas card and until you have discussed or know where you stand with him...a gift is not necessary.

Nah its not weird to give him the gift first.
Something like a CD, or Axe body spray, you know simple stuff, will make him think highly of you, and you feel great for giving!
Good Luck!

Make a wonderful romantic dinner together followed by a beautiful warm bubbly bath with music and candles! Make it a FUN thing. Dont come on too strong and make sure you can trust him first. REMEMBER, material things dont last as long as a fun memory.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!

why not? but make sure that it's because you really like to buy him something. not because he might give you something also. i you buy him something, it doesn't mean you're assuming things about your relationship. go ahead, guys would not admit it, but we love to receive gifts. whatever the size and occassion is.

Yeah, get him something small and sweet but be sure to make sure to say that it was a surprise and that you didn't expect him to get you anything. One of my guy friends got me a shirt i really wanted and we aren't even dating! Believe me, he'll appreciate it.

i would get him something small.. something that resembles your relationship so far. its cute, and not expensive. until you know that youre in an in depth relationship you dont have to worry about spending lots of money on someone you dont know if youre going to stay with. something small id say.. itd be nice
