no cologne, and no clothes becasue he doesn't need either. he's in the army and i'm thinking of getting him things for where he lives like bath essentials but i don't really know what

What about an Ipod Shuffle - the new one that clips on to your clothes? I think those are about $79 bucks.

A photo album with pictures of you would be great. Make sure that you leave space to add pictures later. There should also be writing near the pictures about yourself so that he can read and look at the pictures and think of you as often as he has the opportunity to do so. You might even add a little perfume scent to the album cover (whatever scent that you normally use). I imagine that you might purchase two tickets to a show to go with it and take him to a movie that you would both enjoy. It is NOT the amount of money that you spend but the thought that you put into the gift that counts the most! I am sure that you are very special to him... Have a great Christmas!!

Depending on where he is, you might be able to find some spas in his area and purchase a gift certificate. You can usually get a basic 50 - 60 min massage for about that price. Just call and purchase it over the phone and they should be able to keep the certificate there for him. He can make the appointment himself and relieve some of that army stress. Hope this helps.

If he is a music buff, theres a 2 gb MP3 player called mymusix that comes with 50 free songs on emusic.com, for 79.99.It holds like 960 songs, whereas the shuffle holds only 250.(Radioshack.com)
If you like the bath idea, make him a care package to take with him, in it put like, a electric razor ( theres one by gillette thats only like 10 bucks!) Shaving cream, Anti-acne after shave, axe body wash, fingernail clippers, chewing gum, and a talking picture frame of your sexy self wishing him a merry christmas! ( theyre also 9.99 at Radioshack) You could put it all in a wastebasket, or even cooler, a messenger bag so he's never lost without it.

Get him a book he'd like to read, something yummy from home he'd like to eat, some nice manly soap. Include a note saying that this was the only way you could think of to surround him in your love.....by being in his head, in his body and all around him.....
He'll go aaahhh and roll his eyes but enjoy the book and the food, probably couldn't care less about the soap. But YOU"LL feel special and clever for having thought of it.

Yeah get him some cool shower gels,you dont have to spend big bucks on some nice after shave.
Cd's always work or dvd's.Does he like to read and if so what kinda books?I'm sure your come up with the right gift.
