When you meet a guy, how important is it that you sleep with them right away? I mean, I get the whole having sex, making love, etc AFTER you've been together a while, but how long is it before you stay the night with them? Right away? 30 days? Longer? Why or why not is that important to you?
I actually have a reason for this question, and it's not because I'm a pervert, but I see/hear of so many young girls feel like sex is more important at the beginning of the realtionship, or before the relationship actually gets off the ground. Do they get their value system from MTV, VH-1, The O.C., Road Rules & Howard Stern?

i am not in the age group you are asking....but i have daughters in that age group and I hear a lot of the conversations between them and their friends. You are correct....an alarming number of them take their ques from the media hype they see about sex. They succumb to the pressure of dressing sexy and acting sexy. Some of them say how important it is for the relationship to flourish before sex but when it comes right down to it, they don't know HOW to RELATE to the guy on any level other than sexual. But rest assured that once they have tasted of the forbidden fruit, they regret that they didn't stand strongand wait...because its NEVER what they thought it would be. And of course it NEVER happens like it does on tv or in the movie and the disappointment is great. So before long, they break it off with that one and move on to another guy hoping to find that kind of "fireworks moment" and so begins the cycle.
It seems to be important for the girls to consider having sex with the guy almost right off if they hope to keep him because even their own friends are after their guy! Its like the high school is a schmorgus board of guys and the girls need to feast. I don't understand it myself but they all watch the shows you mentioned and talk about the characters as if they are best friends. Its scary...
