Could somebody please give me specifics on how to get a cd-r or cd-rw to play video on dvd. Like what video format they need to be in(like DivX or Mpeg-4). Also anything else you can think of that is useful.
Thanks

This depends on your DVD player. Mine for example plays back the VCD format, but yours may not. I believe that Nero digital is an mpeg format. you can choose the format to burn your movies in the options of Nero recode or Nero express.Nero recode gives you the option to burn your videos as DVD but at lower qualities that require less space. There are other software that convert your video to different formats, go to http://www.free-codecs.com take a look at them, but to be sure i suggest copying or converting your movies to the dvd format. I hope this helps.

Some set-top DVD players won't play Divx DVD's. However, ALL DVD players will not play videos burned on a CD unless your player supports it.

What will play is called a mini-DVD. Choose mini-DVD in Nero under CD burning modes. You can not fit much video on a mini-dvd since you are limited to the 700MB capactity of a CD-R.
