Then you need to get some professional help -- therapy, etc. -- because you can't go through life not liking yourself, especially for things you can't change.

you need to discover why you have such a feeling. For all pratical purposes, you can't change your skin colour. Therefore, for the sake of your own self-worth, you need to talk to someone who can help you. Perhaps and older relative can offer some wisdom - maybe your religious sect can help. Even professional people can give you the assistance to enhance your quality of living. I doubt very seriously if anyone on a chat board can really help give you the insight you need to discover who you are and guide you to be the person you're meant to be.
Good luck

I can understand what you are talking about. I'm mixed black and white mostly, but I grew up in an all white neighborhood. Most of my friends were white and raised by families that are considered racist. Their parents allowed me to still be friends even though I had a darker skin color because I was so "well behaved".
I asked a white friend of mine what race she considered me to be. She said white, but one of my black friends considers me to be black. Even more confussion is added in when you consider that my mother is also Jewish. Man, I am a mess. Talk about always getting the short end of the stick. LOL
Anyway, I don't think I hate myself because of the color of my skin. I am however very confussed about self identity. I have never felt I belong anywhere. These are some of the topic that I talk to my therapist about. In school I have many english teachers who encourage me to write stories and poems about many of my unique experiences and perspectives. Some times I do, I find them to be very helpful in exploring myself even if no one else ever see them.

What can you do? You can get counseling or you can be proud no matter what skin color you have. We are all created equally and no one, no matter what color, is better or less that any one else. Some people have more material things than others, but that does make them better than anyone else. Society needs to get a grip on reality and we all need to live as one and stop seeing color at all...just see the person.

It's not the color of your skin hon! But a clear indication of some self esteem problems. See a therapist and soon you will love the person you are. Good luck!

You can talk to Micheal Jackson's doctor or you can learn to accept yourself. It's easier to accept yourself since there is nothing more you can do to change.
