Using the shine treatment won't damage your hair, but it won't neccesarily help protect it while using the straight iron either.
Try using something like Beyond The Zone's Turn Up The Heat Flat Iron Protection (http://www.sallybeauty.com/shop/1370/140036) or Volumax Extra Shine Glaze (http://www.sallybeauty.com/shop/1320/623326)

Your adding a spray that most likely has heavy oils in the ingredients, with that said adding the spray and flat ironing your hair after is def frying your hair. Overrall heat is damaging your period.

Anything doing with heat will cause some damage to your hair. Just make sure you use a barrier, such as the heat protection sprays. (Tresemme makes one)

i advice that you put on heat protector sprays and perhaps wash you hair with heat protector shampoos and conditioners. Also a ceramic straightener will damage your hair alot less. Your can probably get these supplies at a beauty store such as Sally's.

HI I AM A BEAUTICIAN
AND I STRAIGHTEN MY HAIR ALMOST EVERYDAY. I DO USE A SERUM OR SHINE SPRAY BECAUSE IT PUTS A COATING OVER YOUR HAIR WHICH MAKES THE HAIR PROTECTED FROM THE HEAT. OF COURSE OVER TIME, YOU MAY SEE A BIT OF DAMAGE BUT NOTHING YOU CAN'T GET RID OF WITH A TRIM.

To be honest, it sound like your frying your hair UNLESS products are not a wet application but oily like oil sheen.
