It was capped because of a minor tiny cavity that was barely starting to develop. It was still white. He has had like two trauma incidents to his mouth before (like 6 months+ back) but didn't see any signs of his teeth being loose. Then all of a sudden today it was loose. When I asked how it happened he blamed it on the candy because we tell him eating too much candy and not brushing will make him lose his teeth and then he said he hit the leg of the couch. I remember when he was playing on the couch but that was like an 1 1/2 before and he didnt complain. There was no blood but maybe in the gum lining of the tooth. I am scared he did damage or could it be that he is just an early bloomer. Please help if there is some kind of dental professional out there!

My daughter hit her tooth so hard when she was four that it turned black.....the dentist checked it and assured me it was fine and be darned if it didn't turn all nice and white again. Have a dentist look at but its probably ok. The jaw bone is fairly soft and the teeth are pretty strong, you will probably notice it becoming less loose in the next few days. Keep in mind though that although the average age for the front teeth to fall out is 8, its based more on maturity.....the fact that my daugther lost hers at 5 kind of gave me the heads up that she would mature earlier than average.....she started her period at nine.....

Trauma can sometimes be a factor in early loss of a baby tooth. But I would call your dentist just to make sure .

It's a little early to be losing the tooth, but don't worry. There may be a gap for a couple of YEARS, but what can you do? There is nothing to do and nothing to worry about.
