Let us look at Deuteronomy 13:6-9 "If your very own brother, or your son or daughter, or the wife you love, or your closest friend secretly entices you, saying: Let us go and worship other gods (gods that neither you nor your fathers have known, gods of the peoples around you, whether near or far, from one end of the land to the other, or gods of other religions), do not yield to him or listen to him. Show him no pity. Do not spare him or shield him. You must certainly put him to death. Your hand must be the first in putting him to death, and then the hands of all the people."
Also let us look at Deuteronomy 17:3-5 "And he should go and worship other gods and bow down to them or to the sun or the moon or all the army of the heavens, .....and you must stone such one with stones and such one must die."
2 Chronicles 15:13 "All who would not seek the LORD, the God of Israel, were to be put to death, whether small or great, man or woman."
Jesus.
Let us look at what Jesus said in the New Testament in context:
Matthew 15:1-9
1 Then some Pharisees and teachers of the law came to Jesus from Jerusalem and asked,
2 "Why do your disciples break the tradition of the elders? They don't wash their hands before they eat!"
3 Jesus replied, "And why do you break the command of God for the sake of your tradition?
4 For God said, 'Honor your father and mother' and 'Anyone who curses his father or mother must be put to death.'
5 But you say that if a man says to his father or mother, 'Whatever help you might otherwise have received from me is a gift devoted to God,'
6he is not to 'honor his father' with it. Thus you nullify the word of God for the sake of your tradition.
7You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:
8 " 'These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me.
9 They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by men.'"

"Do not think that I [Jesus] have come to abolish the Law (the Old Testament) or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke or a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law (the Old Testament) until everything is accomplished. (Matthew 5:17-18)"
"Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples: 'The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat. So you must obey them and do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.' (Matthew 23:1-3)"

Allfaiths have loose adherents, but many sincere Christians try very hard to follow Jesus' teachings. I try to do that. I really try to follow his teaching on compassion, love, rolerance and forgiveness. I do fail sometimes, that is human
I think of his telling us that the "greatest of these is love" and those aforementioned things all require love as a basis as do really all of Jesus teachings. He was quite a revolutionary!
Today he would likely be labeled liberal, socialist, something of a hippie, a poor dresser, a rabble rouser, a political dissident and even a blasphemer. And much more! And I fear as eloquently illustrated in the Musical and movie "Godspell" he would fare no better than when he came before.

Jesus or Paul ...? paul is an apostle of Jesus Christ. you of course don't understand scripture. paul replaced into speaking abt circumcision which, after the crucifixion, proved pointless. Ga 6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any element, nor uncircumcision, yet a clean creature. Jesus did no longer come to abolish the regulation. Neither does paul practice that the regulation is mindless. Paul preaches justification via faith, utilising the regulation as a comparative learn. via no potential does Paul contradict Jesus' teachings. via no potential does paul practice to interrupt the regulation. relatively, he reported the regulation.

Wow. You actually believe that?
Jesus taught a new way to be JEWISH. He didn't show anyone how to "really be a Christian" - he wasn't trying to start a new religion. He regarded himself as the Messiah only in the normal Jewish sense of the word - a HUMAN leader who would restore the Jewish monarchy, drive the Roman invaders out of historically Jewish land, and set up an independent Jewish state.
Jesus didn't regard himself as a divine being - that would have been idolatrous and an abrogation of the first of the Ten Commandments..
He had no intention of being crucified in order to start up a salvation cult.
HE WAS A JEW.

I'm a Catholic
because there are over a billion Christians and lot of ppl just say they believe in God, but they're instincts and they still hate ppl. Like u should try explaining why a Catholic when i absolutely did not do anything to him.
but according to the details, i would say a lot of ppl don't care what a person's religion is, just their race and gender

First I think you need to understand the Hold Trinity of God. God is one God in three persons... God the Father, God the Son (Jesus), and God the Holy Spirit. Jesus taught to follow God. Jesus died to save us from our sins.
Look at John 14:5:
Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?"
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really knew me you would know my Father as well. From now on you do know him and have seen him."
When the deciples saw Jesus they were also seeing God. God gives us salavation through believeing in Christ and that he died on the cross to save us from the sins we have committed.

Because your average christian doesn't even know this crap is in the bible. It is possible to read it from cover to cover and actually absorb nothing. I've quoted dozens of passages to people who I know have 'read' it in its entirety and they are in disbelief until I open up the bible and show them. Obviously there's a difference between reading something and absorbing it and just scanning all the words so you feel good about having 'read' it. That said, the silliness of your passages is greatly eclipsed by a lot of the other stuff in there. I like to think that if all christians actually read the bible and truly absorbed it, there would be a lot less of them.

What do you think we are doing in Iraq right now. We are putting those Heathens to death. We wont worship their false Gods. Now for all them other things Jesus taught. He was just teaching his Apostles those thing you don't think he really wanted every one to follow them do you. No no all anyone really has to do is accept the fact that he is our Lord and believe in him. We don't have to follow any of his silly sayings do we? xx

yes. there are only two main commendments. It is that you should love god with all your mind, all your soul, and all your heart. and love your neighbors as yourself. I think God is cool and i'm proud that i follow his religion. Go Catholics and Christians! i love being a catholic. If the people in Moses's time believed in God, then why did they do all the evil stuff? Believing in God is difficult but i'm proud.

the Law (Deut, Lev, etc) was written, in the grand scope, to show us our sin. Jesus came and taught us what it really means to live as Christians. Judgment belongs to the Living God, not us. yes, it was written "an eye for an eye" but Jesus said, "let he who is without sin cast the first stone." (even a little white lie)
