It's not from dry skin. Don't buy that one. People think they see flakes, oh it must be dry skin. Not so....
The flakes are from the skin cells turning over faster than average. The cause is a fungus that is naturally found on everybody, but for some reason grows faster on some people's scalps, causing dandruff. It is not a cleanliness issue, as you could wash 100 times a day, and that doesn't help.
Shampoos like "Head and Shoulders" have zinc pyrithione that kills off the fungus, making the dandruff go away. Another good one is Selsun Blue, but H&S is better.

reason dry scalp ....treatment wont be solved with all the expensive shampoos of the world
try rubbing warm coconut oil onto ur scalp 3 times a week leaving it on overnight and then washing your hair in the morning. After 1 -2 months of following this routine you will find that your problem with dandruff is no longer present

Seborrheic dermatitis (SD) is inflammation of skin with a high density of sebaceous glands (face, scalp, upper trunk). The cause is unknown, but Pityrosporum ovale, a normal skin organism, plays some role. SD occurs with increased frequency in patients with HIV and in those with certain neurologic diseases. Seborrheic dermatitis causes occasional pruritus, dandruff, and yellow, greasy scaling along the hairline and on the face. Diagnosis is clinical. Treatment is tar or other medicated shampoo and topical corticosteroids and antifungals.

when u r not using coconut oil regularly,scalp may become dry and you get dandruff which results in more loss of hair.
Inorder to avoid this,take headbath twice a week and use oil regularly.
remedies: use Nizoral antidandruff shampoo which is available in medical shops.use this twice a week for 1 month and later use weekly once.This shampoo really helps to get rid of dandruff completely.Try this.

dandruff are flakes of skin on the scalp. the reason for the scalp to flake is lack of moisture. there are many dandruff shampoos on the market. for example, head&shoulders. hope this helps u.

skincondition to fungal infectionof the scalp may cause dundruff. if its mild, you can use a dundruff shampoo available in the market. if its worse, consult a dermatologist.

basically it is a sking problem. (Scalp of your head needed treatment to cure dandruf and not your hair)
