I am thinking about get two more facial piercings when I graduate from highschool in a few months. I already had my labret pierced(and received many positive reactions too it) but let it close because I obtained a job. I am considering getting a monroe piercing as well as another labret piercing(this one off center) diagonal to it. I was wondering if people generally believe this affects a woman's appearance, as far as femininity goes. I want to be an individual but I still want to be able to wear dresses and feminine outfits without it looking too...odd. Would two be too many? Please share your thoughts.

I used to have that, be careful because just like anything else it's a fad and no fad lasts forecer although you will have the remenants of yesteryear. Piercings tend to close, just be sure to proceed with caution and remember that a woman can make anything feminine if she wants. :)

I have two lip piercings which isn't too full on but I have tattoos as well, the combinaion seems to be a bit too much for employers. Im a full time mum at the moment and have a job to go back to when im ready. It is difficult for employers to see past the facial piercings and ink.
From my experience, first impressions out weigh qualifications and experience. Still people feel tattoos and piercings will affect the way you can work. Ha Ha They cannot understand why someone would want to do things like that to themselves.
Most of the time ive walked in to the interview, and you can see from the look on thier face they are already ticking your file as a no.
As for femininity, people looking at you, will make the judgement. Should you really mind what others think? It should be something your doing for yourself, with the understanding that not everyone agrees with it.
Maybe if your doubting it already, its not such a good idea.

this question depends on the age of the viewer......and the work environment you are in....If you want to be a bank teller, some 50 year old white guy, (who is probably the Boss) will probably think it looks WAY ODD ....You probably wont get the job. If you are working in some salon, nightclub, Hot Topic store, with a less "traditional" outlook...you probably WOULD get the job....I know from first hand experience of girls who were either NOT hired, or were fired because the "management" felt facial piercings were not the appropriate Corporate image they wanted their workers to impart. They also said they were "safety hazards!?"
As a warehouse manager once upon a time, I was given a letter of reprimand because I interviewed and approved a girl with a labret, she was let go, and the personnel manager who hired her was fired. All because the CEO happened to see her in the employee cafeteria and freaked....

Personally i think earrings look feminine. And a few other piercings but they are all underneath clothing....Anything else is ODD, but hey you don't DO it for the people who look at you right?

So get comfortable in your own skin, make your decision and live with the results.....that's what life is.

You know, I realize it's a person's right to do that, but with the exception of multiple ear and belly button piercings, I don't ever think that I've thought girls, who would be attractive otherwise, look good with their faces pierced where ever you can get something in there.

You mention a couple of different names for particular piercings, which don't register with me (I didn't know piercings actually had names), but when I see a girl with barbells in their eyebrows, a little ball in the center of the space just below their lower lip (above the chin), nose rings and other nasal piercings, lip rings, etc., I just can't believe that the GIRL, not me, actually thinks those things look attractive. Sorry, maybe I really don't get it, but when I see a reasonably good lookin' woman with a face full of piercings, I usually think that it a real shame she's done that to herself!

P.S.: In the work-a-day world, nobody, and I mean nobody, with facial piercings will ever hold a responsible position where dealing with the public is part of the job requirement. You even mention that you let one close "because I obtained a job", to quote you! I've been in sales for years and there is a clear statement in the employee's handbook that address that issue directly. You can't have them ... period. If you have piercings, other than the ears, all jewelry is to be removed during working hours and there are NO EXCEPTIONS! There are more people out there that think excessive piercings are unattractive, maybe even a little repulsive, than there are those who think they look good. Sorry!

Body piercing, like tattooing, is a tribal art expression that is fad now. Some companies discourage body piercings among their female employees and do not consider applicants with the same body art when seen (not under clothing). I once learned that women dress up relative to the opposite sex, that is, you beautify so that men, not same sex, can appreciate it. So, I believe most men will agree that body piercing does not take away femininity but it gives a bit of masculinity in the female person.

personally i dont think it takes away from feminity. i have my eyebrow, 2 in my lip, and 2 in my tongue, and im still the same female that ive always been. I will admit yes in society people do see it as more of a "mans thing" just like tattoos, but i say if its something you've thought long and hard about then go for it.. I think its attractive on men and women because it shows individuality(and yes i know just about everyone has something done) But it shows that u dare to be different and stand out. And combined with great sense of style -----its definitely hot

As a body piercer myself, I don't believe that piercings take away from femininity. I'm a woman, and i have 2 lip rings and my septum pierced. Of course you will always have your handful of closeminded people, but I say if it will make you happy, go for it...monroe piercings are very common among women today.

I think that two may be a little much. I used to have my labret done and to be honest peircings are a fase that people go thru. Think about the scar that will be left on your face, and how many holes you actually want. If your a teenager and ur going to collage than one may not be so bad but it is VERY unprofessional. A job may not directally come out and say it they will not hire someone w/ facial peircings, even if you put a retainer in. I think it does take away from the femininity of a woman a little, but if your young than people will understand that you will grow out of it. Think about it before you go marking your face up. If you like peircings than peirce something a little less visible.

i don't think piercings take away. a lot fo guys do, but i think a piercing and a tattoo reflect personality and attitude. if it fits you go for it, i used to have my tongue pierced and want my nose pierced but don't think i will, but i think if it's your personality then you should do it. you can still dress sexy with a piercing on your face, i would get a monroe if i thought it looked right on me.
