Winter Itch... See Your Family Doctor Or Dermatologist

The dry and cold weather can cause dry itchy skin on your face; one way of limiting or giving aid to that condition would be using vitimin E oil on the itchy dry areas of the face. (Note provided you do not have an allergy to Vitimin E) You can use the caspules and break them open then rub a small amount on your index finger and apply directly to the effective area. You might also try purchasing the pure Vit. E oil and applying in the same manner. Please note that the E oil can be sticky so do not over apply - you could add it to a hypo-allergenic lotion of some sort to limit the stickiness.

Itching can be caused by insect bites like mosquito bites, heat rashes or allergic reactions.Aloe vera gel , apple cider vinegar or vitamin E oil can be effectively used on the affected skin.

I think your face is dry. You've got to be disciplined in the moisturizer department, slab it on every morning after you wash your face and at night before you sleep. Also, you can buy "moisturizing sprays" from any pharmacy or lifestyle shop which sells beauty products. The water face spray from Evian is quite good, just spray on when you feel dry.

I agree with everyone else who suggested that you use a moisturizer. In addition, you should preserve your skin's natural oiliness by minimizing showers (within reason, of course!) and by wearing waterproof gloves when washing dishes.

Winter itch gets worse as we get older...like almost everything else :-)

Good luck!

You probably have dry skin ... use a moisturizer. The heated air in your house has much lower humidity. You might also try either a room size or central humidifier that runs in your heating system.

Ditto on the humidifier if you're living in a place where must run a furnace. I hooked one up to my furnace, and my sinuses stopped burning, my skin stopped flaking, and the dog stopped scratching his dry skin.

It was the best $200 I've ever spent.

Sounds like you could use a light facial moisturizer...that'll help a lot.

and of course you should make sure you're drinking at least 8 glasses of water each day....solve it from the inside out!
