I don't think it's weird, it's a very 'in' and common thing now, so if your shooting for different you'll need to try something else. I personally like it better when it's spelled different, but that is just me.

I have a guy's name and I don't find it weird, funny or wrong. I like my name. It's unique and I always get complements for it. When people ask why my parents gave me the name I tell them I was supposed to be a boy, but when I was born and my parents saw I was a girl, they liked the name so much they went with it. Personally I like having a name that is not common, but that's me. Most names are versatile like Jamie, Tyler, Taylor, Devin, etc.

thats really funny my friend missy and i had this discussion the other day. i always think she has a boy.... i forget.... you know.... but i gave her a ribbing saying i wouldnt forget had she given the girl a girls name and not devin, but a lot of others there said they think its a boys and a girls name like jamie or pat. in fact one or two said if they saw the name devin they would not know just by that what sex the kid is.... so i guess its cool but i would not have thought that personally. to me its a boys name, but what the heck do i know anyway.... hope that helps.

I don't think it is weird...different...and what is wrong with that? We are all different. The world would be a boring place without the differences. Each person, as we become adults, have the choice of keeping the name our parents give us or changing it. I think really, names seem to fit each person, no matter what it is.

Not at all! In Feb. of this year my fiancee' and I got the shock of our lives. We were having a baby VERY unplanned! We decided to honor our fathers and my oldest sister, all who have passed. His Dad's name was Charles, my father's middle name was Morris and my sister's middle name was Ann. Hence...
Our littlest angel, Charlyann Morrista! She is as beautiful as her name, and someday when she asks, we get to tell her how special her name is. We feel this is a wonderful way to honor 3 of the biggest influences in our lives.

I don't think that it is weird at all considering that my name is Erin. I like my name because it is a piece of my family. I was named after my great grand papa and he was from Ireland so his was pronounced more like I-rin but still. Uniqueness is awesome!!

How about those names like Ashley and Tyler? Originally, male name. Really not a big deal anymore.
