well it really depends on what kind of dish you're gonna use it..if you're following a recipe read carefully they sometimes put some alternatives..but as much as I know, yes, you can use minced onion in place of grated one..just make sure you really mince the onion to achieve the "grated like" fineness of a grated onion..or just buy a grater..you can find some cheap graters on the market that you can surely afford.

Yes.....if you are using it in a dish that does not require cooking try putting the minced onion in water until it becomes hydrated. Then use it like a regular onion. I keep a jar in my fridge to put on burgers. If you like the onions they put on burgers at McDonald's then you will like minced onion re-hydrated...that's what they do.

Don't forget veggie gravy! Some veggie margarine and a little rosemary or mixed herbs in the potatoes is good. A few little chunks of carrot through the mince too. Once it's all cooked and laid out in a dish with the mash on top, bake at about 180 deg C till its a bit brown. Before it goes in the oven - rake the mash with a fork to make patterns of lines along the top.

well it depends on what kind of dish it is!cause if it is a dry dish then no becasue the juicies from the onion will make i tturn out different!
