A year ago, I started a diet consisting of protein, fruits, and veggies, and exercise. During this diet I lost a total of 25 pounds and started feeling great about myself. The reason that I went on the diet in the first place was because of rejection from a boy that I had a crush because of my weight. After that day I promised myself that I would take better care of myself and prove him wrong. After losing the weight I took a break and gained back a few pounds. I also met the love of my life who supports me and loves the way I look no matter what. This is all great, but it gives me no motivation to start my diet again because I have no one to prove wrong. Can anyone tell me what are some new ways to get motivated and start losing weight again?

What happened here is that you went into a diet not because yourself motivated you but because something else did. As a result there is a big chance of you getting back to your normal diet which is the case here. I suggest that you take time in evaluating yourself and start doing things for your own good not because of some guy. The reason of you wanting to lose weight should be because you want to feel healthier and look better not because you want to please others. Its good to know that you have a boyfriend who supports you and will accept you no matter what. The point here is that for you to be able to take care of yourself regardless of whether or not you have a loving boyfriend. Goodluck.

Unless you really want to commit to the diet and weight loss, there is no motivation. I know that sometimes, I lose sight of my goals, and need a pick me up to keep me going. Here's what I did: I went through all of my magazines and cut out pictures of girls that I thought had a nice body. I glued them all into a collage. Whenever I feel like I don't want to go to the gym, or if I want to eat that extra piece of pizza, I take a glance at the collage of "hot" girls on my refrigerator, and think again. It's really worked for me so far. Good luck!

Well think about it a moment. You said you felt GREAT when you lost all those 25 pounds! Now think this in your head for a few days...Think about your life when you lost those pounds. People I'm guessing were impressed and saying how you lost so many pounds right? Well get that motivation again, and you will be very happy to purse your diet again!
Best of Luck! :)

I've lost 5 kilos in my first week. It's my 10th day and I have included salad with some protein (eg. egg/ lean chicken) as you suggested. After 4 years of trying, the fat is finally coming off. It truly feels like magic!
Get started today!

You have to do it for yourself. Show yourself that you can look good. Diets do not work. 99% of people gain the weight back. No one teaches the animal what to eat and what not to eat. He knows instinctively what to eat. Humans also have the same instinct. The way it works is just eat whatever tastes good and that will be healthy for you and non-fattening. That is why a baby tastes everything. So again whatever tastes good, is good for you. This is why you will spit out spoiled milk.
But wait!!! Man has the technology to create rat poison. It tastes like healthy food (good taste) but kills the rat. So man has done that to you. Note-- any food unaltered by man (uncooked) that tastes good, is good for you. So if you are stranded in the woods, that is how you know what to eat (cooking changes that). So man has created fake fruit. It tastes like fruit that exists in nature but it is terrrible for health, addictive and fattening called sweets.
So it is natural to like real sweets called fruit, like a baby does, but they have fooled you just like the rat. But they do not want to kill you. They want you to become obese so you will buy lots of their foods. This is called GOOD BUSINESS. Remember the above (not on site) and see site below to re-learn how to eat so you can be thin and fit for life.

Focus on how you physically feel. If you feel a bit lethargic, then that would be a motivating factor. If you feel lazy, then try to get rid of that feeling. Focus on what your body tells you instead of an outside source.

It's called M-O-T-I-V-A-T-I-O-N.
If you don't have it, nothing can ever be compromised. Join a fitness center, online weight watchers, or grab a brochure the next time you go to the doctor for a yearly physical.

Well, you shouldn't be exercising to prove someone wrong. Why would you need a reason to be healthy?
