Go for it, its legal, the statue states legal age is 17 and it wont be long before they are 18, but i am pretty sure it has to be ok with her parents too until she is 18 and 3 years is nothing in age differance at that age. She may be more mature than he is.

That's a tough age. Laws say "bad idea" but, if it's actually more than "like", he should be patient enough to wait until she's over 18 to get too serious. If it really is only "like", let them have their fun. There's no laws that say they can't date. They just can't go "too far". Remember, Elvis was 24 when he met a 14 year old Priscilla. He had to wait a long, long time.... and did.

i think it is a bad idea just mostly because she is 17...she is not legal, and she cannot do some of the same things that he may be able to do.........what are they going to do when he turns 18 and wants to go out to clubs and bars, she can't go...its just too young and it causes nothing but problems

16 is the age of consent, so I guess he should go for it.
Its the same thing as a senior dating a freshmen, its not that big of a deal.
But then again, if hes only interesting in sexual favours it might not be a good idea. I guess it depends on the sitchuation.

I think as long as he likes her enough to be patient and give her time it would be ok to go for it. They are close in age (even though she isn't 18 yet) so they would suit, but either of their ages is too young to settle down.

It is not your choice it is their choice. If the parents do not approve of their 17 yrs old daughter dating a 20 yrs old male, I am sure you will be one of the first to hear about it, if he is your friend.

i would say go for it because age is nothing ut a number and with her consent the state cannot legallt indict him or touch him, let love speak for itself. Love is stronger than any force or human on this earth. Just tell him to be patient until lshe is ready to be sexual, this doesn't have to be until she is 18 it can be b4 and it can b way after. It will al be up to her

Age means a lot at these ages. Take into consideration the intentions of each person. At 20 his thoughts are far different from hers, she will grow out of him in time...

It's not really a big age difference, but maybe he should wait until she turns 18 just to be safe.
