Suppose the ADD is just lack of awareness? As often as it occurs to you, bring your awareness on being here. Just as an affirmation, experience your hereness.
By the way... you sound cool.

I'm thinking you might need a neuropsych referral too.
Your problem doesn't sound like ADD. Often times, when neuro transmitter's don't connect right, I've know Doc's to use a completely different class of medicine. Don't take the adderall any longer if it hasn't been prescribed for you--Self diagnosising can make things worse, and the medicine might worsen your symptoms. Start by seeing a physician. But write it all down first before you go and hand the list to the Dr. It might take you a few days to get everything down, describe the situation, and what takes place.
And get a journal calendar and start writing your daily activities down so you'll have a record of this when and if you get a referral to a neuropsychologist.

it is possible. make an appointment with a psychologist. he'll have you take a test. With most people that dont have add, caffine and adderall will give them energy rather than calming them down. Do you have extreem trouble with organization and forgetfulness? Or begin a project and get up to get somthing and find yourself starting somthing new because you completely forgot that you were doing somthing? Also behavioral problems can be a symptom. Even as an adult you may find yourself 'snapping' at people and getting more mad than neccesary. Talk to the doc, and he should be able to tell if your faking. They are used to people faking just to get the meds, so he'll see through you if your lieing.

get a therapist. sounds like your pretty proud of your quirks. figure out what you do by choice (calling people pet names) and what you have no control over (concentration) how do these things negatively impact your life?
could be other things besides add, like bipolar, schitzo ect. thats why you should see a doc.
with the adderall working, dont put too much faith in it, taking a xanex would calm you down too, doesn't mean that is the answer.
try a little self control, try to stop biting your nails. see how it goes
remember though, i talk to my dog constantly and dance in my kitchen all the time. there is no "normal" just be a happy, healthy you.

A "good" doctor can give you a few simple tests. That way you can be sure you have ADD. If your tell the doctor what you are going through and how the Adderall made you act, he can help you.
If you don't have ADD, you don't want to take the medication even it does seem to help. If something else is wrong, then the doctor can help you with that.
So, just write down everything you have told us and take it to a doctor and let him/her know what is going on and he/she will help you.
Good luck to you.

Where'd you get the Adderall? Have you already been diagnosed with ADD or ADHD? If your behaviors interfere with your activities of daily living, you should see your doc about it. They can refer you to a neurologist or neuropsychologist for further testing.
It's not a matter of whether "they believe you." They can do specific objective tests to determine if you have a clinical diagnosis of ADD. Sorry, but you won't be able to fake your way through an ADD evaluation.

First i would like to commend you for trying to know yourself. that is very good. It will help if you would see a doctor. first try a psychologist. He will try to determine if your problem is psychological or he cold recommend that you can see a neurologist to check if there is something physically wrong. It will not help you if you will diagnose yourself it is best to seek proffessional help. you can be helped management is the key.
