The small stipend part isn't always true. I've known many missionairies personally who collect money before starting their work, much more than what they need, they live quite luxuriously in the country they are working in and take expensive vacations, they don't live like the people they are ministering to. Many of them have no financial difficulties at all, much unlike the people they are trying to reach. Don't kid yourself, most are living better than an ordinary person with an ordinary job.

No. There is no truth to that.

Missionaries are volunteers or make a small stipend. They actually believe they are doing Gods work.
I have known a few people who did missionary work.
Trust me, there is no money in it for them.

Nope, absolutely not. Most missionaries are in danger for their lives while in those countries, because they are hated.
