You let this guy know by talking to him and being honest. The worst thing you can do is string this along and keep putting off. There is no good way to let someone know you'd rather not be involved with them any longer.
So I suggest that you tell him nicely " I've enjoyed being with you and have had a good time. However right now I just need some time to myself and not be in the dating scene" "It's not you or anything that you've said or didn't say.. I just need some time alone and not be committed to dating anyone at this time"
And that should cover all your bases dear and it's about as easy & gentle as you can get.
Best of luck to you.. remember don't put it off just let him know and don't feel guilty about not wanting to date him any longer.

Be honest and make it quick. Drawn out , confusing break-ups hurt even worse. Just say, "I don't think we're gonna make it." Tell im the truth and keep it moving. (Unless the truth about why you're not into him has something to do with his sexual disfunction. They never want to hear that their wankers are inferior.)
