Yes, or send them a fruit basket. But, at least a card. I guess it depends on which company provides more money for the other. If you give them alot of business, then just send a card. If they provide you alot of business, then send them a basket.

not really required but it would be good gesture on your part for future business with this vendor. He may be inclined to give discounts during the coming year or let you in on any sales they may be having.

I don't think so. I own a business and every year we send gifts to some of our customers. If it's one of your vendors, they' re sending it to thank you for your business. Giving them the business in the first place is thanks enough.

I think it's really polite and courteous to send a thank you note (for gift received). It goes a long way to maintain the relationship.

No, I don't think you are required to ever write a thank you for any gift received. I do think it's polite to thank anyone who gives you a gift especially when it's business realted. It can only help your business.

NO, but do it anyhow. A quick email will do. It makes a big impact that makes you and the giver feel good. The fact that they don't expect it gives your reply even more impact.
