how do you know if you are passing your kidney stones and long does it take before you pass them?

You will probably have some pain or spasms....sometimes severe. You may have pink-tinged urine which means it has blood in it. The only way you will know for sure is if you see them. Best to strain your urine and take the stone to the doctor. Drink a ton of water to help pass them.
