Study a little at a time. Take plenty of breaks, mix it up study a little watch T.V. a little get on computer a little. Get up move around a little
The trick to studying is that it is not how long or hard you study but how much you get out of studying. All you are doing when you sit there hour after hour slogging through the books is beating your head against the wall especially if it is a dry boring subject.

Down a big can of Amp or Monster Energy, shut yourself off in your room, unplug any electronics gadgets in there, sit in an upright chair (NOT on your bed or slouching in a couch), and focus. You can do it.

Also for incentive, think of how much more relieved you'll be when the homework is overwith and you can enjoy the rest of the holidays without this black cloud of academic responsibility hanging over your head.

Yeah, its hard on the holidays, so Im going to wait until I get back to my dorm, but thats just me. I'd suggest you get away from the distractions, and pick a secluded, quiet place. If its too boring, get some friends to be your "study buddies". They should be in the same class or something. Take study breaks or take naps (I prefer breaks). If it helps, drink some caffeine or eat something for energy. And finally, FOCUS. Self-discipline, you know. Remind yourself of your goals.

Sleep and distractions are two different things. To keep the zzz's at bay I'd reccomend lots of caffine (hydroxycut, redbul, stacker), and then a little more caffine. If it's the distractions that are a problem there's only two ways to go...lock yourself away in a room with no tv or distractions...OR go with the flow, enjoy christmas break, and get your f-ing party on man!!! WOO HOO!!!! Party time!!!

Ok. it all depends on where you are studying at if your sudying in your room by a bed than yeah you will want to go to bed but if you sit on an uncomfturbul chair with plenty of light and a little noise so it will keep you up.

Pirulee has a very good idea. I can't study or otherwise concentrate either, if someone is playing the TV. So...

Turn the television off.
Don't get too comfortable.
Try to do your studying before you start getting tired.
And yes, caffiene is good too!

Good luck!

Select a place to study that isn't too comfortable and that is away from that which distracts you. You should study early in the day, when you are at your freshest and most alert.

Turn off the TV and the internet and study when you know you won't be tired. Simple really, and proven to work as well.
