Sorry I can't give you any specifics, but I can tell you that resentment is natural. Sibling rivalry is normal anyway. Having a "special" sibling can add to the rift.

My brother had four kids - two with "Classic" (non-verbal) autism. The oldest really resented her life being upturned. She went from being the spoiled only child, to getting her toys broken all the time by her autistic siblings.

The third girl was born 14 months after her autistic sister, so she never knew anything but a home with an autistic child.

They both jump on any opportunity to blame their autistic sister (Non-verbal so she can't defend herself.)

The last born was a little boy who was also autistic. The oldest resented him especially because he had a fascination with all things electronic. He's chew on wires & remove batteries. He died last spring so this resentment added to her guilt in a big way. She ended up angry at the whole world for quite a while. I think she is finally coming around.

Email me if you'd like. How old is your brother or sister? Is he verbal? Asperger's, PDD-NOS or "classic" autism.
