Will the earths population ever demand it or will growth run rampant until starvation is so prevalent that all will go hungry? Will the religious ever accept it as a viable alternative to self-extinction?

Population control is one of the inevitable issues that will only grow louder and more important as time passes...unless nature decides to do some weeding out with H5N1 or whatever.

It's not just a religious issue. It's also a cultural one.

It'll run rampant.

It's like environmental concern. How many decades now have we been trying to get people to recycle the bulk of their trash? If anything, companies have their products created cheaper and flimsier with brighter colors, so they'll either break sooner or you'll be enticed to buy a new shinier one before the old is worn out.

And of course, along with the new shinier products will be a new shinier face to entice people to buy the product.

Most of the continental US is trees and fields. It's those tiny, tiny countries across the Atlantic that will need to think about population issues.

I think the decision has been taken out of everybody's hands. The question is disingenuous in the face of rampant evidence.

I'm all for ZPG. I'm doing my part by being childfree--I need not add more pollution to our damaged planet by creating additional life. That's just my stance, if you wish to have children, feel free to do so =)

I'm a Christian and I feel that we do need to focus on this matter. But it's not a religious matter.

No kids for me. Tried and failed three times (miscarriages, not sex). I am neutral on this. God's taking care of things.
