If you want to get it done, you'll have to deal with the pain, and it will hurt, there's no doubt about that. Just be ready for some serious pain, but some nice smoothness afterwards.

I actually just got this done yesterday for the first time. If you have ever had your legs waxed, the pain really isn't all that different. If you have never experienced waxing before though, by the time you squint your eyes and say "ouch" the pain has pretty much passed... except for the very top center (called "the hood"). When she pulled that strip I started to sweat and had to take about 10 breaths before the pain eased. Afterwards you are tender as though you have a sunburn. Today for me is a little more uncomfortable however. I have pimple bumps similar to a plucked chicken and it feels very tender like a really bad sun burn. I am told though, with an antibacterial cream and loose clothes that the irritation (and pain) will go away within the next day or so. Overall, I don't regret it and it has turned out to be better than I expected and if all goes well, I will make it a common thing. Good Luck!!

it will sting, and in some places ALOT. the most important thing is to remember how awesome it's going to be when the hair is gone! and if you keep it up you will not have to have as much done on subsequent visits.

the best thing you can do to prepare is to take a tylenol or advil for pain in advance of the appointment and 24 hours before you go make sure and exfoliate the area well to remove dead skin cells that will otherwise block the success of the hair removal. (to keep ingrowns down during the growth following in the next couple of weeks after the removal, continue gentle exfoliation). don't use an apricot exfoliant, rather something with small smooth beads such as Loreal's microdermabrasion kit. but don't use the moisturizer in the kit, it has alcohol in it! (ouch!!!).

good luck!

The client is asked to disrobe. Occasionally, for females, a paper g-string is provided to protect the client's modesty. The procedure starts with baby powder, talcum powder, or oil being spread liberally over the area to be waxed. This prevents the hot wax from sticking to the skin. Then, as in other forms of waxing, hot wax is spread over the area from which hair is to be removed. The wax is allowed to harden briefly, then one edge of the wax strip is pulled up and used as a 'tab' to pull off the rest of the wax, usually in the direction opposite of hair growth. The waxer then works his or her way around the body systematically removing the hair from the genital area, buttocks, and anus. This procedure removes the wax, hair, and any dead skin cells lying on the skin surface. The person performing the wax will then finish with tweezers to remove any stray hairs that the waxing missed. Finally, the remaining pubic hair (the so-called "landing strip") is either trimmed with scissors, or waxed off if the client requests it. The remaining hair may even be in a particular pattern (hearts are a popular option), or dyed.

The wax used is often a mixture of natural beeswax and tall oil rather than the more common synthetic 'waxes' used for regular leg waxing. It is felt that beeswax is stronger, and more effective at removing the thicker, coarser pubic hairs.

The pain involved with this procedure can be slight or acute and can continue for quite some time (from several seconds to minutes). Most of those willing to endure the procedure feel that the result is worth the discomfort. Furthermore, most feel that the procedure becomes less painful with subsequent treatments. Many products are available to lessen the pain, such as topical anesthetics.

Some advise following the procedure with an application of a hair inhibitor, which will slow the regrowth of hair and may halt regrowth completely. The results can last up to two months.

The benefits are similar to those of other types of waxing, such as lack of razor burn and soft hair regrowth. The disadvantages are also similar, though since it is performed on an extremely sensitive region of the body, the pain can be more acute.

The process is not comfortable, but it does not hurt so badly that you will pass out. You just have to ask the lady who waxes you to tell you when to breathe. My waxer tells me to breathe every time she is about to rip off the strip. You should also ask if they have have the "blue wax"- it's more expensive, but less painful.
The outcome is worth it! just think how sexy it will be. good luck.

It will HURT. But it's TOTALLY worth it. One wax lady said to me, don't go right before your period, because it hurts more, go like the week after.

if your doing this for yourself then I give you props. But if your doing this for a man....no man is worth this pain. Good luck and take some pain killers ahead of time....also make sure to exfoliate the skin before you get waxed. Helps to soften it.
