I did not know that Jesus wrote any book. There are plenty of scriptures that say the OT should not be disregarded but I believe the Christians don't want to follow the old laws so they change it to suit their purpose.

I don't think it is obsolete. If it wasn't for the Old Testament,no one would not have ever have known about the coming of Christ.I am not a Bible thumper, but that is how I feel about that.I didn't know about the writings of Jesus, but I have heard about the testament of Judas and writings of Mary Magdalene. As for why they were deemed unworthy was because the people who put the Book together must have felt that they didn't meet their standards of what religion was to them.I have heard of a book called The Lost Books Of The Bible in which there is a story where a young Jesus
got angry with a friend and struck them down.Should I believe it?
Why not.People fail to realize that when Jesus was born he was to be born human.Which means he had all the things that go along with being a human. So why couldn't that have happened.
Just like when they say he was married, some people get offended
I say,big deal! He was only human,as well as God.So I don't think all Christians think the same way about the Old Testament, they know and understand it.

Many Christians still refer to the Old Testament. Paul's letters to the Christians in the New Testament. refer to the Old Testament. Hence Christians do also at times.. If Jesus wrote anything down, it has never been found. Books about his life were written decades after his crucifixion by various Christians. In order to understand why certain books were included in the Bible and others were not, you have to read about the Council of Trent that was convened hundreds of years after the death of Christ to put together the writings that would constitute the Bible. The consensus of opinion amonst historians is that the Church wanted each of the books of the Bible to be consistant with one another. So if a particular book mentioned somethng that did not fit in with the way that the Church wanted Christ presented, it was deemed heretical. And I am sure that the Book of Judas ( a modern day find) will be deemed heretical because it does not fit in ideologically with what church hierarchy thinks. The Christian churches claim that the books included in the Bible are "God inspired". and hence true. .

They don't refer to the O.T. b'cos satan has them and their church leaders decieved in thinking that it's no longer relevant in this present day and age OR New Testament era! As a result, they rely on absolute proof from the N.T. ALONE!
They fail to realize that the Old Testament IS the New Testaments' foundation! The O.T. clarifies many of the N.T.'s vague passages and is so much clearer and to the point.
And BOTH Christ and Paul, PROVE the Old Testament IS STILL valid! Remember, THE LAW AND THE PROPHETS is The Old Testament!
Mat 5:17 Don't suppose that I came to do away with the Law and the Prophets. I did not come to do away with them, but to give them their full meaning.
Mat 5:18 Heaven and earth may disappear. But I promise you that not even a period or comma will ever disappear from the Law. Everything written in it must happen.
Luk 24:25 And he said unto them, O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!
Act 24:14 But this I confess to you, that according to the Way, which they call a sect, I worship the God of our fathers, believing everything laid down by the Law and written in the Prophets
So you see, BOTH Christ and Paul, validate the OLD TESTAMENT!

...You say you were raised in a Christian household - you must not have been paying much attention or else you weren't taught much.
...A word of advice - don't use "never" or "always", since you cannot possibly know all Christians and what they believe.
...We study and read the Old Testament and the New Testament. The whole Bible (OT and NT) is God's Word and should be read and studied. Not all Scripture was written to us, but written for us. It contains God's
principles for living.
...Before you go hunting and asking about additional books and writings, tell me, what are you doing about what you do understand? Where are you in your spiritual life - have you put your faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation? There isn't a whole lot of sense in debating these things if you are not trusting in Christ.
...What have you done with Jesus who is called Christ?
...I urge you to trust in Him alone and be saved.

What Christians are you talking about? The ones I know study both the Old and New testament. Most see the New Testament as the fulfillment of the Old Testament but as GOD's holy word also.
There are no writings of JESUS. The Bible is GOD's word but was not written by JESUS. The only instance of JESUS writing anything was when he stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground(when religious leaders brought to him a woman taken in adultery).

It teaches you the history.
To understand anything in this world, you should always look at the history behind it. What made it this way.
The books that were supposedly written by Jesus most likely were not. This is because the time that they surfaced seems to be around 100 years later than the death of Christ.
The only books not included in the Bible that I think are real and should have been are the Book of Enoch and the Book of Wisdom.

Jesus teaches us in the New Testament to keep the 10 Commandments; these came from the Old Testament.
However, there are some "Old Laws" we need not practice, like giving up burnt offerings, circumcision, etc.
Christians practice Jesus' teachings that were recorded by those who were around Him and heard the Good News.

Your question holds a false statement to start off. Are you aware of this? Do a study of the ancient books, and the canon, and how they were included or excluded. It is a great thing to study. It will all come together. All the christians I know, embrace the old Testament, and the stories, etc. All those older stories, Adam and Eve, Moses, Noah's ark, David and Goliath, have GREAT moral teachings behind them, and apply. The Old Testament is awesome!

Sad to say a survey was taken amongst professing christians and it was determined that only 17% of them read their Bible today. This could very well be the last generation of Bible readers. Isn't it amazing how true the Bible is though.Ungodliness will increase as time goes on.If we don't awake to this soon we will be in for a very rude awakening. Thanks for bringing this to our attention and I should hope this will make you want to read more yourself.
