Question Details: Which would be more reliable? cheaper to maintain? easier to find parts for? Is either of these even worth considering as a good-weather-only daily driver?

The ghia hands down.
Plenty of parts still available
Good and reliable and easy to fix for most problems
Resale value is going UP not down
(too bad its not a convertible but you can't have everything)

Ghia will probably be cheaper to maintain, operate and insure.
If they're both in good shape and have been cared for properly, either would probably be good daily drivers in nice weather.

The Ghia no doubt, since it's powered by a normal Beetle engine. Those are nearly bullet-proof little machines : )

the 911 will make a better daily driver,if its in good shape,,other wise the ghia would be better,,good luck,hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.
