I think dreams can come from stimuli that occurred during our day that our conscious and or subconscious mind is dwelling upon; perhaps worrying about. As for visions, I've honestly never had one (in the Biblical sense if that's what you're talking about). Does God even do that any more? I suppose He can do anything! He's God!

The important ones come from your spirit trying to communicate with your conscious mind.

they come from either God or Satan to either warn you, give you an insight or scare you into doing something dumb.
