I have a kodak dx6490 and a sandisk 2gb ultra II sd card. I tried to format it in the computer's card reader, and it says that it cannot be formatted. I tried to do it in the camera, but then I still cannot access it from the computer. I bought the card yesterday, so it's not because it's old. Help!

Most flash cards have a write-lock on it when when switched on will make it read only so information can't be written or deleted from it which would prevent you from formatting it. Check out the casing of the card and look for the switch. If you find one and can't tell if it's on or off then just flip it and try formatting again.

are you able to take the pictures and store in this card ?

if yes, then you should be able to format too...
IF not, then u need to make it writable card...(It should come as writable itself)

If u can store the data or pictures...
try formatting using the camera itself instead of the card reader..it should work
