I haven't had milk delivered to the door since 1985 or '86; some small dairies offered a choice of glass bottles or the more cost effective plastic containers depending on which dairy was chosen for delivery service.
I have heard that in England, preservatives are added to the milk so it keeps without refrigeration for long periods of time; to the best of my knowledge we don't do that to the milk here in the USA.
Are milk delivery vans still referred to as "milk floats" in England?

Oh particular I do. and that i remember my pal from third grade have been given contained domestically papers because of the fact for weeks he'd slip out interior the morning and drink a number of quarts of milk, abandoning the empty bottles. He became a one boy crime spree. The milkman disappeared in my homeland while the 1st 7-11 opened in 1965 (or there approximately). I enjoyed the 7-11 because of the fact i might thieve the Playboys in the past they have been stress to maintain them in the back of the counters.

I have never even seen milk in a glass bottle. It's way too expensive to have it delivered to your house, but some places in the country still have a milkman so they don't have to drive into the city to get it in a grocery store.
