It sounds memorable. Go ahead and do it as long as you know she's into that romantic stuff. My guy made a stuffed teddy bear at Build-a-Bear and dressed it in a little wedding dress and put the name on the certificate as Mary Meme. Something as simple as that can be wonderful.

That may be the corniest poem I've ever heard. And it doesn't make you weak to get on one knee. If you are a secure man then nothing you do can make you weak. You need to come up with something deeper than that poem, and I'm serious. I hope she has already fallen in love with you if you are proposing marriage, so the poem is pointless. I think any woman would love to go to Italy or Hawaii, so that is a nice thought. If you are doing a poem then you need to use reasons why you love her and want to spend the rest of your life with her. You need concrete descriptions in your wording, not vague lines that could apply to any woman. Mention places you've been with her, and places you want to go. Try not to rhyme either. If you need to, you should read a poem that is not your own. Tell her you thought of her when you read it. The idea is great, but the poem has to go!

Sounds good to me...do the one knee thing though...it may feel stupid to you but women really do love it...it's a sure sign of what you are about to do...and that way there is no mistake...I would also bring a picnic basket with wine and cheese and maybe some gourmet sandwiches or something...If you can afford to take her to Hawaii or Italy then go all out and show her you really went to alot of trouble to get her there at that moment and to make it as perfect as you could because you know how important it is to you...it's just as important to her...this is like the wedding She will remember that day and how you proposed to her for the rest of her life...and she will tell everyone she knows!!! so Make her story the talk of the town...She will be proud of you and happy to say yes!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!

Well here are some unique proposing i guess
One young man tied the engagement ring to a kite string, with some sort of a special knot, and took his gal kite flying on the beach. As she tugged on the string, a shiny object came tumbling down - it was her ring. She was furious with him, but did say yes!
An avid fisherman tied the engagement ring to his fishing line, and gave his unsuspecting girl friend the pole and told her to reel in the line.
We also heard of a ring placed in a carved out dictionary. When the intended bride unwrapped the book at Christmas time, she tossed it aside without looking inside. She was pouty most of the day, and finally looked at the book - only to discover the engagement ring. She was embarrassed, and humbly said yes.

The poem is a nice touch and you know something I bet you don't even need to take her to Hawaii or Italy. As sweet as you are she would be a fool to say no. God Bless you both...
I will keep ggod thoughts for both of you..

unless something is wrong with you , you have to get on one knee .ain't nothing like the magic tha'll bounce off of her unto you ..picture this ,you're on the beach in jamaica or a beautiful beach in florida in a white linen short suit with flowers, wine, a blanket , strawberries and chocolate having a candle or two surrouding you while you propose to her on one knee..kiss, kiss, kiss, kiss, and eat a little. put your money into the wedding not the engagement..

Everything you wrote is beautiful in my opinion but nothing beats getting down on one knee,no matter where you are......It makes us feel special......I say do everything you wrote but in the end of the poem get on one knee and ask her to marry you.....hold her hands while you say the poem and look her in the eyes.................this is a 100% way of her saying YES! good luck!

When a man professes his love and devotion to a woman, if she loves you in return she's not going to really care if you are on one knee, hanging from a trapeze, or balancing on your head. What will matter most is that you are opening yourself, your life, and your heart to her.

It sounds fine; do what you feel comfortable. The poem is lovely too. Do you like this one by Rumi?
In your light I learn how to love.
In your beauty, how to make poems.
You dance inside my chest,
where no one sees you,
but sometimes I do,
and that sight becomes this art.
