Friend, To the best of ny understanding, I understand there is one Divine plant (creeper) called SOMA LATA, that grows only on Himalayan Mountains at specified heights. It is said that this creeper has a connection with the Moon phases. On Padyami day , the plant had one leaf. And on the Dwiteeya day it has two leaves.Similarly on Panchami Five leaves and on Pournami all the Fifteen leaves..Then Maharshis collect the leaves and the creeper as well and prepare SOMA RASAM. This after consumption , gives all divine thoughts.Never any evil thoughts. From Pournima day the plant leaves a leaf every day and on Amaavasya day it , the Creeper is bare. This too maharshis collect and prepare Soma Rasam. The effect is same. So it is a DIVINE DRINK, which does not intoxicate. It helps the person in thinking wisely. But SURA is a brewed liquid, fermented and it intoxicates.Maharshis or the people in Spiritual path will not consume it. If any one takes he falls from the position from where he is . That much I read.

What is the difference between flexeril and soma?
lexeril (cyclobenzaprine) and Soma (carisoprodol) are both muscle relaxants, structurally and pharmacologically these drugs are diverse.
Flexeril is very similar to tricyclic antidepressants in chemical structure. So it shares many properties of TCAs, including anticholinergic side effects such as sedation, dizziness, and dry mouth.meprobamate, which is a CNS depressant. Soma interrupts neuronal communication within the reticular formation and spinal by blocking nerve impulses (or pain sensations) that are sent Flexeril is not habit-forming.
Soma has an active metabolite, to your brain. cord. In other words, Soma works

As the Anandamaya Kosha, Soma is the Divine Delight, represented by the Vedic term “Sura” meaning wine. Sura or wine, refers to a state of “Divine Drunkenness” and also intoxication, later known as Ananda or Delight. It refers to the Soma-Chakra or realm of Soma and Delight in the Crown of the head. It is also called the “Lotus with a Thousand Petals”. It is no surprise then, that Soma is commonly referred to in the Rig Veda as “Sahasraksha” or “A Thousand-eyed”. Soma is Jyoti, Truth. Sura is Tam, Untruth.

CARISOPRODOL (Rela®, Soma®) is a muscle relaxant. Carisoprodol is used to relieve muscle spasms and pains associated with acute injuries. It should only be used for a short time and should be combined with rest, physcial therapy or other non-drug therapies. Generic carisoprodol tablets are available. It acts by blocking electrical communication among nerves in the reticular formation of the brain and in the spinal cord.
CYCLOBENZAPRINE (Flexeril®) is a muscle relaxant. It helps to relieve pain and stiffness in muscles and can treat muscle spasms. Generic cyclobenzaprine tablets are available. Specifically, cyclobenzaprine relieves muscle spasm when the spasm is due to local problems (that is, problems originating in the muscle itself and not in the nerves controlling the muscles). Cyclobenzaprine has no effect on muscle function. Cyclobenzaprine seems to accomplish its beneficial effect through a complex mechanism within the nervous system, probably in the brainstem.

I am a physician assistant and know much about this topic. Flexeril is amuch safer drug than that of soma. Soma contains products which are highly addictable which are not fund in flexeril. Your safest best it to use flexeril with caustion due to its sommelence effects in addition with heat and nsaids
