I went to a chiropractic's office and the receptionist said: "I was on drugs" in a crowded waiting room full of patients. I told her: That is rude and she has no right to say that to me as that wasn't true. (It's because the chiro had charged me way over visit amount long story...)
Flashforward 8 months later : I see the receptionist at Walgreens gave her a nice smile and say: "Merry Christmas to you" In a nice voice. She replies back sadly" Same to you. And her face was red!
For Shame!
Mom was right when kindness is the best revenge.

One, her initial behavior was inappropriate. Even if it were true, the proper behavior is to take the patient into a private room to discuss it. So, two, it came back around to her. You know that saying, "what goes around, comes around," or the more spiritual version called "karma." Whatever you call it, it exists and we actually do get the good end of the stick by being the better, kinder person. I wholeheartedly believe in karma and I have never been let down by it. I have had it happen to me time and again. That's why I don't believe in revenge. Bad people will get theirs, whether it is tomorrow or in their next life. People do pay for their behavior.

It has happened to me many times...back in the day I was on the receiving end though. I learnt my lesson (I hope) and it will continue to happen as long as people hold grudges.
