God is everywhere. You don't have to go to a church to have a relationship with God, or to talk to him. or to praise him, or to worship him, or to find comfort in him. Not every ones religion has a church to begin with there are more than the one faith last time i checked.

I attended a church in Chicago that was frequented by homeless people. Fourth Presbyterian Church on Michigan Ave, evening service.

Well, I wouldn't generalize, as I am sure there are some
that are homeless that do make it into a church (even if its just to get warm during the winter, and with luck maybe even be led to God)

but for some churches I have been to in Virginia and I will name them if I have to, have been known to turn their backs on those in need and have asked them to leave and not come back into the building "As the parishioners" felt uncomfortable with their prescence in the church --- How Christian like right? !!

some of them do. most of them unfortunately are too busy looking for food shelter and quite a lot of them are homeless because of drug abuse and the last thing on their mind is church they only want their next fix. Note I said a lot of them not all of them so don't try to tell me I am judgin them because I am not I am simply stateing a fact. Not all of them are addicts but a good majority of them are, those that are not are busy trying to score a Meal or shelter 24/7. Those of us that are in church should pray for all the homeless.

homeless people do attend church, sweetheart. if the homeless in your area are not attending church (or just not attending yours) you might consider what message your church or churches in your area are sending to its community. is it possible churches in your area have an elitist attitude. outreach programs, food programs and clothing drives (to give homeless citizens something to wear when they do go to church) may cause a spike in attendance by individuals in your area most in need. hope that helps.

They usually don't, but they do go to the Churches for help. The Salvation Army is very generous with the help for the homeless.

Many do, actually. It's warmer to be inside for an hour or so. And many churches have programs for the homeless as weii.

Okay, firstly, who says they don't?

Secondly, there are those in most parishes that call the police when "suspicious people" show up in their church.
