Is this every holiday (like the fourth of July?) or just the winter ones? If it's just winter time, you might have yourself tested for SADS (seasonal affective disorder). It causes a generally depressed feeling during winter months. With all the crazyness going on during the holidays, it may add stress when you are already not feeling your best.

I am sorry to hear that the holidays make you feel icky. Try to not focus on yourself and help someone this holiday. Volunteer at a shelter, food center, elderly home... if you physically help someone else you will see that your life isn't so bad. Giving money to the poor isn't the same as getting your hands dirty and really helping someone. Best of luck to you... try to smile, sometimes forcing it actually helps!

I know how you feel. I don't get to see my family this year or anthing so I'm in the same boat. You know what I do? I do try to stay busy, but not as much with holiday things, more everyday things and I hang with friends a lot. Please don't feel you want to die. Just remember, nothing is as bad as it seems and the holidays will be over before you know it. Just hang in there and try to stay positive.

If all these thing do not make you happy - do something that does. Perhaps a short weekend trip, have a massage or facial, take a long bubble bath?
Look at it this way - you have someone to celebrate with; you have people in your life. Some people has no one.

People on TV are actors who have to go home to their lonely, cold apartments, estranged wives, nagging mother-in-law, and moody teenager, just like the rest of us. Some of them don't even shop at Wal-Mart to enjoy holiday savings. I don't know what to tell you except that your Q made me smile - Bah humbug!
