the kilt was forced onto the scots by the english as thier national dress and a dress [skirt] it is. before the kilt they wore an over the shoulder type thing which i believe was featured in the film rob roy. we beat em, we rule em, we make em wear skirts and we erect a statue of edward longshanks on thier border to remind em.
