If it's a Romanian AK47 it is listed as a WASR 10, this is simply a manufacturers identification, yes, it's a real AK, it takes the standard double stack magazines, it has the exact same features the original rusian ak's had( which were built in 1947, not 1957 as stated above). If it was made in Yugoslavia it might be called an RPK, simply because the receiver is called an RPK type receiver(milled, not stamped) The Rusians produce another AK variant called the VEPR, it's a true AK but it's not sold or listed as one.

Many countries in the soviet bloc produced the AK 47. The only country I have heard of that didn't produce the AK 47 is the chechs as they built one that was similar to the AK 47 but was actually better quality. I have seen them on Marstar.ca website. It is a real one by the looks of it but as it has been stated there are many of them and they are cheap.
Hope that helps

It's country of origin isn't important in what makes it an AK-47. The tooling used in manufacturing is. What you show is definetly an AK-47. And a nice one at that. Much nicer than the Chinese or Egyptian built ones.

Yeah, that's an AK. Those things were made everywhere, and it was probably cheap for one of two reasons. One: It was bought by an arms dealer when the Soviet Union collapsed at an extremely low price. Two: There were just so many made that there's a very large supply.

there are various types of AK's made in different countries. I have an Egyptian model. The mechanics are basically the same. Although some models are alittle bit different cosmetically. The Romanian models are very good.

I've got the same rifle. The model designation is WASR-10. And no, it's not a "real AK".
